Tell me about yesterday tomorrow

2019/2020

A Vienna-based research project focuses on the November Pogrom and the tragic destruction of the city’s synagogues. On the morning of November 10, SS troops set fire to nearly all synagogues using hand grenades and flammable liquids, erasing these houses of prayer from Vienna’s map within a few hours. A detailed model presents 17 synagogues with their floor plans, alongside a timeline showing when fire brigades arrived, tasked with protecting only the surrounding areas. This project aims to ensure that these events are remembered and never forgotten.

Tanz des Nebels

2024

In a world reshaped by stratospheric aerosols to combat climate collapse, "Tanz des Nebels" invites viewers on a journey through time, following a climate refugee’s quest for survival across alien landscapes. Amid mist-filled scenes, a greenhouse powered by geothermal energy emerges—a structure repurposed from old aerosol balloons. This teaser hints at a future where innovation and environmental stewardship play critical roles in shaping a sustainable existence, fully visualized in Unreal Engine.

how to live in an airhandler?

2019

The "Sand Transition" project creates a self-sufficient community designed to thrive in polluted or desert environments. Inspired by the Namib Desert beetle, the design uses rotating elements like a sail, blade, and wheels to harvest water, manage ventilation, and harness solar energy. The structure's layered "skin" supports a hydroponic garden, solar panels, and ventilation systems, ensuring comfort and sustainability.Morning fog is captured by the sail and stored, while wind rotation prevents sand buildup. By integrating sand, sun, wind, and fog, this project offers a sustainable, adaptable way of living in harsh environments.

Raumpark - Faux Terrain Vienna

2020

group project - 12 students

RAUMPARK – Faux Terrain Vienna is an ecological mega-structure reconnecting nature with urban life. Stretching 12 kilometers, it links Vienna's western Biosphere Park Wienerwald to the eastern Prater and Nationalpark Donau-Auen, creating a green corridor over the city. RAUMPARK provides spaces for homes, recreation, agriculture, and trade, integrating forests, gardens, and parks to cool the city and improve air quality. Designed for all species, including humans, it adapts to its environment using recyclable materials and evolves to meet future needs. The project fosters a sustainable way of living, balancing population growth with preserving nature.

about headmachines & kippmoments
a re-creation of morel's island

2020/2021

with Julia Wiesiollek and Tim Handl

In "headmachines and kippmoments," we reinterpret Adolfo Bioy Casares' The Invention of Morel by exploring memory and perception. Inspired by Morel’s machine, which loops recordings of life, we focus on kippmoments—sudden shifts in perception that distort reality. Our project, using the concept of an "empty theatre" (referencing Aldo Rossi), symbolizes the mind’s ability to blend different moments in time. This apparatus triggers a space where memory is reconstructed, blurring the lines between reality and illusion, and creating a new, subjective layer of experience.

Experimental architecture with concrete 3D printing

2020

summer school, University of Southern Denmark in Odense

The summer school focused on applying 3D concrete printing to create innovative columns. The goal was to design 2.5m tall, 0.4m diameter columns using minimal material. Strategies included speed manipulation for material efficiency, internal ribbing for strength, and overlapping reinforcement for stability. Mixed Reality was used to blend design, simulation and fabrication, enabling precise experimentation in concrete architecture.
